When the Biden levee breaks- part one
Projection and gaslighting ultimately create a crumbling foundation
The prolific University of Chicago economist and thinker Milton Friedman is credited with stating “What is unsustainable will not be sustained.” The present course of the United States fits this description. What began as a counter-revolutionary movement under the Obama administration intended to correct the perceived injustices wrought upon segments of the American populace over the centuries, was turbo-charged by the consuming hatred of Donald Trump and desire to destroy him at all costs. Amplified further by social media overlords and surfing on the crest of a complicit establishment media during the Covid days, it has now flowered into an all-out assault on our bedrock principles of justice and fair treatment for all citizens regardless of race, creed, color or political affiliation.
It has metastasized into a power-at-all-costs crusade which has a religious sort of zealotry at its heart. Comply or face the modern-day gulag of cancellation and public derision. It has rendered the present-day America a nearly unrecognizable cauldron of conflict and chaos, with rampaging young criminals without fear of prosecution, and once-proud American cities morphing into simmering havens for homeless illegal arrivals in need of care and feeding. All while needy Americans and aging veterans go unheeded, ignored. This will not be sustained.
How does such a state come about; one might ask. Under what circumstances would this possibly be allowed to occur in a nation that has been a global leader for over a century? Wouldn’t the people object and prevent such an environment from arriving? Some might ask the same question of the Soviet people of the 1920s through 50s, or the Chinese people of the 20th century Great Leap Forward. Both populations were subjected to great horrors and tens of millions of deaths at the hands of their own leadership in the recent century. Leadership in both cases was a ruthless minority sleeve of the country. How can people allow this, we wonder. Seems inconceivable.
The tools of suppressing a people
It is beyond today’s subject matter the way those countries fell prey to brutal authoritarian regimes, yet I can suggest the primary tools being used by the segment I will refer to as ‘Democrats of 21st century America’, are projection and gaslighting. Time-honored tactics designed to confuse and block those with questions. These post-modern ‘progressives’ have become adept at both, but being dishonest and attempting to trick the American people to think a certain way is also unsustainable, and the levee is approaching its break point. Let’s examine the tools of control for a moment.
One definition of projection is ‘the attribution of one's own ideas, feelings, or attitudes to other people or to objects.’ You assume or accuse others of conduct or thoughts you are engaged in yourself. For example, if you were a U.S. politician colluding with foreign sources to drum up negative information on your political opponent, as Hillary Clinton did in using British spy Christopher Steele and the fake Russian dossier to bring down the Trump campaign in 2016, you might accuse your opponent of doing the same thing. In fact, the entire Crossfire Hurricane Russia investigation, instigated by the Clinton campaign and executed by the Obama Justice Department, was an example of the precise conduct the ‘investigation’ was looking for. If you accuse your opponent of doing what you did, it confuses and tends to negate the sting of your corrupt action. Especially when backed up by a sympathetic and ethically barren media.
Another example might be if you are operating a corrupt enterprise with elements of top Ukrainian businesspeople and politicians as the Biden family was in 2014-15, with Hunter’s lucrative and unlikely appointment to the Board of natural gas company Burisma. If so, you might accuse President Trump of being corrupt in asking the Ukrainian President to investigate the Biden family corruption which did in fact take place. In 2018, Joe Biden publicly bragged that while Vice President in 2016, by threatening to withhold U.S. aid, he was able to force the firing of the Ukrainian Prosecutor General who was investigating Burisma at the time. For projection purposes, you might even go as far as to order up an impeachment as if it were an appetizer in a restaurant based upon the legitimate inquiry into the Biden corruption. The funny thing about the passage of time is the truth often comes out, as it is now.
If you have an issue with removing classified documents from your offices as a Senator and Vice President, perhaps you then accuse your predecessor of having classified documents from his Presidency. If you litigated the 2000 presidential election thinking Al Gore did not lose, if you complained about Trump’s 2016 election being illegitimate as Hillary did, and you have Stacy Abrams still not accepting she lost the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial election, maybe you make a big stink about Trump complaining about the 2020 election. Maybe even arrest him for a crime or four. It tends to mask the odor of your own malfeasance. That is world class projection.
The art of projection has become so well practiced by present leadership; you can almost figure out what they are doing by the accusations they make. They assume we will never catch on, but I believe they may be disappointed. Next- the second sinister tool used by those who would control- gaslighting.
